Instruments Required

We welcome everyone who can play a concert band instrument (woodwind, brass or percussion) who is interested in joining the band. Currently we are especially looking for: Trumpets, Bassoons, French Horns, Low Woodwind, Auxillary and Mallet Percussion but any concert band instruments are always welcome.

When: Tuesday Nights 7pm for a 7:15pm-9:00pm rehearsal
Where: Weston Creek Uniting Church

Costs involved: $50 per semester, which covers hall hire and insurance. Family discounts and early payment discounts apply, see below for more information.
Auditions: NONE REQUIRED!
Who: Anyone aged between 12-30

Other Information

The following are the expectations of the band and its members:.

  • Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights from 7:15 - 9pm
  • Members are expected to be at the hall at 7pm to set up seats and instruments
  • Rehearsals are held throughout the school year and break over the school holidays
  • If you are unable to make a rehearsal you are required to contact the secretary before the evening by phone, text message or e-mail (before 6pm)
  • Band members are expected to attend as many performances as possible, with 3 compulsory performances (Eisteddfod in May, Floriade in September and end of year concert in December)
  • Fees are $50 per semester, but family discounts and early payment discounts apply as follows:

  • Each member is required to purchase a band shirt for $40. The uniform for all performances is the band shirt worn with black pants/skirt, black shoes and black socks.
  • Permission from parents of members under 18 is required for photos to be posted on the website.
  • Members are permitted to photocopy the music for home practice and may sign out and take home the original folders.
